Graduated from the Department of Painting at National Taiwan Normal University in 2020, and later completing her postgraduate studies in Fine Art at Goldsmiths, University of London, in 2024, Ya Hsuan Hsiao’s artistic practice centers on exploring folklore, afterlife imaginations, and landscapes of memory in East Asia.

Ya Hsuan’s works do not merely document what is "lost" but tenderly reimagine the possibilities of "returning" these lost elements. Ya Hsuan employs diverse media, including writing, photography, sculpture, and video. Her practice frequently draws upon objects and imagery of "souvenirs" to evoke layered relationships between memory, experience, and place.
